Externalizing disorders

Temper tantrums, kicking, yelling, screaming, biting, hitting and being disrespectful; many children display such behavior, and as parents we hope that its only a phase. However, some children don’t out–grow it, and these children may become disciplinary problems; the child no one wants to spend time with, the child who is negatively labeled, and the child you don’t know how to handle. These children are experiencing Behavioral Problems.

Internalizing disorders

There are times in everyone’s life, particularly during times of stress, when we feel anxious—but when Anxiety becomes excessive and prolonged, and interferes with a person’s everyday life—they are suffering from an Anxiety Disorder.  They are living in a constant “what if?” mode, always anticipating catastrophe.

Depression is an illness that invades both the body and the mind.  Depression manifests itself differently in children and adults, differently in girls and boys.  Children may show more irritability, moodiness, and behavioral problems.

All of the above are issues that won’t go away on their own—but they can be treated successfully, once diagnosed. MindWell provides families an understanding of the problems and creates a roadmap to remediate it.

When dealing with emotions, smaller symptoms can be signs of several overlapping issues. MindWell Emotional Testing helps correctly identify the sources, instead of just treating the symptoms.
